In the few moments it took me to contemplate these thoughts, Hannah asked, "Shouldn't the apostrophe go before the twelve?" And the lightbulb went on inside my brain."Why does it say 12 foot? Was that on the board and they just didn't get it cut off or painted over? What could that 12' mean? Is there some code that the followers get but I am missing?"
Of course they meant it to be short for 2012, but didn't pay attention in grammar class and misplaced the apostrophe. I wonder if they were in the same class as the people who made the sign by the side of another road we travel which reads:
"Wish'in to be fish'in?"

That wish'in to be fish'in sign DRIVES ME NUTS!
You said cringe or laugh. But how about throwing things at my computer? Is that allowed?
Typos on signs are the worst, living long after they were first made, a blight upon the earth and a continued offense to our already long-suffering eyes. Is it so hard, before you put all the time and effort and expense into making a sign that will be around for who knows how long, to find a nice English major to proofread it for you?
I know Aubrey. I am glad that two of the four original signs are gone, it makes it that much faster to get past the awfulness!
Cheryl - yes you can throw things at your computer, but I'd recommend they be soft things, or your anger might cause you unneeded expense! ;-)
Good advice. I have such smart friends. :-)
Well, I laughed. . .and now I'm just shaking my head.
I came THIS close to going out at night as a ninja and cutting those "Fish'in" signs down with a katana. Now I'm "wish'in" I had...
