What a good idea ...Thanks for reading Country Gal. What a good idea your mom had. If we would have been near an electrical outlet, we might have had the radio on. I even offered to continue our read aloud (The Swiss Family Robinson) while they worked, but surprisingly (not!)every one of them vetoed the idea.

Kristi,

No I've never made pepper jelly, nor blueberry, nor blackberry. Blackberries were always for pie (my favorite!) My family loves strawberry and raspberry jam the best, so that is what I make.

Now, I have to get my mom to freeze some persimmon for me so I can have pudding. I haven't had that in a long time and it is a favorite.Glendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14707408587652111070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32588283.post-574258935462405072008-08-21T20:25:00.000-05:002008-08-21T20:25:00.000-05:00I thought I was really doing something when I froz...I thought I was really doing something when I froze 16 bags of conr! WOW! We didn't have to pick ours either, it was brought to us :0)

I would love to know your salsa recipe. I have tomatoes to deal with.

Do you make pepper jelly? I just did that! Yummy.

Now it is time to pick our grapes. I will soon have grape jelly to had to the blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry!Kristi Heinzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17259969644768565695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32588283.post-83743081340170402602008-08-21T19:41:00.000-05:002008-08-21T19:41:00.000-05:00I love having food in the freezer or in cans and j...I love having food in the freezer or in cans and jars on my shelves- it's like money in the bank!

My mom always played records (Smothers Brothers or Bill Cosby) when we did long hot jobs like corn. it kept our minds busy so we didn't complain or pick on each other as much!
