Now

Kristi wrote about her one word for the year.  Ever since I read it, I've been thinking about what my word might be.  There are so many that could work, but I keep coming back to the first word I thought of when I originally read her post, NOW.  As in, what can I do NOW to meet a goal?

What can I do NOW to drink more water in a day?

What can I do NOW to keep up with the laundry?

What can I do NOW to have more time for self-indulgent reading?

What can I do NOW to grow in faith?

And there are many more questions just like this.  The word NOW, for me then, is a way to keep me aware that the choices I make at this very moment have consequences down the road, either for good or ill.  To that end, what I should be doing NOW is getting off the computer so that I can begin to work through my to-do list for the day.

This is great, Glenda. I may have to steal it. :)

Great choice Glenda!

Something I should take on, doing something now, instead of putting it off. I am a terrible procrastinator. That may have to be my second little word for the year, and I would sure get more done.

Thanks Bonnie - and your welcome to steal it NOW! ;-)

Yes Kristi - I know what you mean, I'm good at getting lost in misery and woe, and virtual computer worlds, so the NOW helps me remember my vocation of wife, mother, and teacher.

Glenda-
I read this post a while back, and "now" has been in my head as I walk by a little dirty sock on the floor. . . and I stop and pick it up "now" instead of passing it by so many times and feeling like I'm never getting anywhere with cleaning the house, etc. It has made a difference for me.

Thank you.

You're welcome Jody.

And Thank You! Your comment came to my inbox after a series of days where I had been in a funk. After your comment, I reread my post and realized what I could do "now" to work my way out of the funk. And that sure helps me. Thank you for reminding me!
