It makes me happy

Ridiculously happy.

I love to have a clean home. To walk into a room and everything is in its place. To be able to see the floor without books and dust and dirt and cobwebs.

But I live in a home with five children who are here every day all day long. Those rooms don't stay that way for long. They will one day, and then I'll write about how I miss the mess (probably not - I love a clean home).

But now I simply have glimpses. A few moments, maybe a day or so. But oh what joy! It really does make me ridiculously happy.

Share you secrets.

Our home was cleaned on Friday and Saturday with Rick doing most of the serious cleaning ... Saturday evening had already evidence that destruction was in progress.
It almost seems futile except for those brief moments as you say when all is well.
This is when I get a sence of Heaven.

I haven't had that feeling for a number of years. I don't even think everything has a "place" in our current house. I'll have to live vicariously through you :)

I really like to clean in the evening when the kids are in bed. I am usually too tired to get up off the couch, but oh the satisfaction of knowing that those rooms will be clean for at least 10 hours!

Me - I have no secrets, except I'm no longer spending hours a day nursing like you.

Maria - isn't that WONDERFUL!!! David helped vacuum the main floor and the bedrooms. They aren't as clean today, but still on the clean end of the spectrum.

Kim - Oh yuck! My good friend lives in a home where there isn't a place for everything.and that is just yucky. My husband tells me all the time that I would go nuts living like that after awhile. I use to think, no I could handle it, but I really hope I don't ever have to try.

Erin - I use to have more energy in the evenings too, but now, the couch is such an evil draw that I succumb to more often than not, thinking, "I can do that tomorrow."

I love, love, love that clean house feeling. I don't have it often, but I sooo enjoy it. I just wish we had a finished basement. I think I could be oh so happy if all the "stuff" could be down there and my house would be clean upstairs! We have too much stuff! That is our biggest problem. We are stuff people. We are working on getting rid of stuff though. It is a long task!
